I've seen OTP ("One True Pairing") used a bunch of different ways around fandom, sometimes leading to confusion and misinterpretation. I'm curious what the general trends for its use are.

I suspect that nowadays OTP is indeed more used in your way than mine, probably because most people don't restrict themselves to one fandom only (I don't "restrict myself" per se, I'm just not interested in any other at the same time).

And indeed I can understand that being in multiple fandoms and loving them equally can create more than one OTP for people.
