So there is a lot of new TV on right now! And I am watching all of it! (it feels like...this is too many shows for me, really, I'm hitting my televised fiction saturation point. But I don't want to drop any of them, not yet! Stop being so watchable, TV!)

Roughly in order of most-looking-forward-to to least, expect spoilers for all:

Elementary - okay no spoilers here, still loving it - premiere was a little slow but Joan Watson is amaaaaaazing, love JLM's Sherlock, that is all! <333

Once Upon a Time - Was so looking forward to this show coming back and it did not disappoint. It's so wacky and ridiculous and has such fun with it! Attack mermaids! Psycho evil Peter Pan! I was disappointed that Mr. Gold didn't hang around the party longer but his costume change almost makes it worth it. Also that - perhaps due to the stress of the situation, or else being back in a magic-rich environment? - he's reverting back to the Dark One, in mannerisms and somewhat in voice...so interested where they're going with that. If they even know. OUaT is one of the few shows that I have no clue if they have any sort of master-plan or are just flying entirely by the seat of their pants but I don't really care as I enjoy the ride so much.

So now Emma is the knight/paladin leading a classic RPG party - fighter, archer, mage, rogue! - through Neverland. (and is Regina turned on by Emma in charge? Yes absolutely! ...what, I can totally ship SwanQueen and Emma/Neal simultaneously!) Meanwhile Henry is dealing with Pan (who we guessed right off the bat but was still a fun reveal) - the kid playing Henry has been steadily improving his acting chops as he grows, he's getting strong enough to carry scenes on his own and glad the show is letting him do it!

The only disappointing thing about the ep was the murder of Tamara. Which was understandable and IC from Rumpelstiltskin's POV (as she killed Bael as far as he knows) and I'm curious where it may take the char as it's a clear sign of how much he's reverting (as far as I recall Gold never killed anyone, not as Gold?)...but seriously, show, did you just kill another black character? without even giving her a flashback redemption story? That is...look, show, I like you, I'm only saying this because I care - you gotta watch it or you're going to end up as racist as SPN. And yeah, Mulan is awesome (omg her armor, so badass!) but she can't carry you all on her own. (If you actually have Mulan confess her love to Aurora instead of poor Phillip the Dull, now...(also how much do I love that Sleeping Beauty is now a dreamwalker? Because yeah, she did get a lot of practice!))

But mostly, can't wait for the rest of the season!

Sleepy Hollow - yeah, yeah, I've jumped on this bandwagon (or rather was dragged on it - usually I wait until a show has aired at least half a season before watching, but came back from vacation and housemate had watched the pilot 3 times and insisted it be added to the weekly roster, so!)

It is so ridiculous and the pilot is SO FAST PACED omg. It literally takes all of 2 minutes to get from the American Revolution to the 21st century! This is not a show that is sitting around! It's also full to the brim with snark, and a refreshing amount of non-white chars, making it a good antidote to OUaT. I admit that my secret wish now (having not seen the 3rd ep yet) is for next season to star Abbie and her sister driving around America SAVING PEOPLE, HUNTING THINGS, because yeah, SPN starring two badass black sisters is a thing I need. --though Ichabod can come too as snark-backup.

Person of Interest - don't have much to say, but liking Shaw on Team Machine more than I thought I would, her casual sociopathy is kind of hilarious and makes Reese look good(ish). And Carter has a wall o' obsession and a secret kingpin asset; and the Machine is a she which means that Root will have trouble marrying her in some states (but I'm sure those crazy kids will find a way around that someday! Love conquers all! even desires to kill irritatingly terrible psychologists! ...Maybe. Or maybe not? He's such an embarrassment to the profession I rather hope Root does take him out...) And Finch and Reese are more married than ever, aww (and they're in NYC so that's okay!)

Agents of SHIELD - which I'm mainly counting on to keep me distracted from Thor 2 long enough to, y'know, breathe...fanning on a movie franchise is SO STRESSFUL, especially when the next movie is most definitely going to smash all my headcanons (and 150K words of fic omg why) to tiny shards...(Lokiiiii~~~)

Enjoyed the pilot well enough - I didn't love it, but then I pretty much never love anything by the pilot; it usually takes me at a minimum half a season to fall for a show, and sometimes 2-3 seasons. But it had some clever Whedon-lines, and it seemed like a pretty fun if light-weight set-up (Joss does Warehouse 13, I'll watch that! Especially with the hope that his brother and Maurissa are there to curb his darker tendencies?) Also Coulson has a flying car, which, flying car! And Fitz-Simmons were pretty adorable and hit my ambiguously-close-relationship button.

Main issues for me were the lack of color in the cast (other than Melinda May, they are so very pale - Skye is styled to look all white - and disappointing that J. August Richards was a one-shot instead of a regular) and the make-up, especially Skye's. She's a paranoid hacker chick living out of a van - does she even own a mirror? Why would she spend the time and effort to style her hair and put on her face like that? I'd buy it if she had on the kind of mask-makeup that would make her look like a different person without, goth or sparkles or somesuch; otherwise I'd expect her to be anonymously plain un-made-up. Her generic pretty-girl looks threw me out of the character badly. (Especially since the rest of the franchise is pretty good about this - Black Widow doesn't come out of the NYC battle looking like she just stepped out of the salon, and Jane Foster's bulky clothes and Hollywood-unmade-face in Thor were so much more convincingly geek-girl.) It also caused me trouble with my face-near-sightedness (I'm not face-blind but I take a while to recognize people) as her styling was close enough to Simmons that on close-ups I would mix them up, despite my sibs assuring me that they actually look quite different...

But yeah, will definitely keep watching, curious to see where it goes!

Legend of Korra - my rant here got long so I'm going to make it a separate post. But yeah, it's on the bottom of the list for a reason, siiiigh...

I hug your entire paragraph about Sleepy Hollow. The show is so insane but I have to give everyone props for committing to the premise and racing ahead with it. Instead of the actual planned Supernatural spinoff, can monies be allocated to your idea? I'd watch the hell out of the Mills Sisters hunting demons. And fine, Crane can come too.

So they're actually doing a SPN spinoff? ahahah of course they are. And yeah, the Mills sisters kicking ass would be so awesome (is Abbie the older or the younger, have they said yet? So very curious to see what their relationship is like...)

Yup. Brace yourself.

is Abbie the older or the younger, have they said yet?

I'd somehow assumed she's the older one but I really that's a complete assumption. We don't know yet.

Haaaaw oh SPN...

And yeah, my impression is that Abbie is the older as well, curious to see how it plays out though (there is not nearly enough sister-sister relationships on TV, I'm really hoping her sister will be a major character and not get killed off or turned evil...)

Iiiiiinteresting. I assumed Abbie was younger, though now I can't say why.

Judging by the flashbacks they're quite close in age, so it's hard to say! (as an eldest sibling myself I tend to be biased towards guessing older, I think :)

I think I'll rewatch it tonight and see if I can figure out what I thought I picked up on.

Detective work FTW

Of course, that can't be what tipped me off, unless my brain has been concealing Super Sight from me for the last 25 years. Plus, we already have internal inconsistencies, since Abbie starts her story with, "You asked what happened to me. Back in high school..." and 10-11 is elementary/primary almost everywhere. Unless it refers to their grade level.

Oooooh neat! Though whether the set people are actually in keeping with the canon...I thought they were more like 12-13 myself? (so jr. high) But I'm not great with kids' ages.

I was thinking Abbie was the eldest because in the interrogation she was more the one telling Jenny not to say anything about the demon; and the way she feels responsible for Jenny being in the asylum felt to me like an older sibling having failed to take care of their younger. But sibling dynamics can be all over the place, especially when you're that close in age, so I can see it either way! I'm just hoping we get more of them together! :D

I watched the third episode from iTunes right after I posted that pic and definitely head-tilted at the line. That's an older sibling line. I think I've said that line to my brother (sans demons).

--The funny thing is that when I said I thought Abbie was older, it was before I saw the 3rd ep - so I'm not sure what made me think it before that? But yeah, in the interrogation Abbie was really acting like the elder (and yeah, especially when younger I bossed my brother and sister around the same way!)

I've been shipping them since last season finale (Root so treats Harold like her father-in-law, it'd be adorable if it weren't, y'know, Root) but that it's femmeslash just makes it more delicious :3

Whoa...so many same brain moments about the same shows! EERIE! Totally with you on Sleepy Hollow! It's funny, though, the thing that threw you out of the loop on Agents of SHIELD is the same thing that threw me for a loop on Sleepy Hollow. I was all good with it until you see the witch/wife in the woods, and she is wearing SO MUCH MAKEUP. I mean, seriously, they couldn't have put it on any thicker. The woman is from the 1780s and a nurse in the middle of the war, where did she get eyeliner, mascara and gold/green eye-shadow? Not that I fault the choices--that's pretty much my go to eye makeup as well. Thankfully, I managed to get over it quickly since I love all the other characters. :P

But I agree about SHIELD's lack o' color. It's the one thing that bothers me the most (that and I find Ward boring, but I assume he'll get better). I just hope it's short-lived. Not that I want anyone to die a la Angel, but a little more diversity would be nice.

The one thing that make OUAT work for me, despite the lack of color, is how powerful the women are on that show. They run it, with most of the men (other than Gold) as there to back them up.

Also, like you, I'm completely and totally obsessed with Thor 2. The picture of Loki reading a book? Like they're deliberately messing with every geek girl because, come on, there's not much hotter than a hot guy *reading.* LOL! The movie is going to kill me, I just know it.

Heh, see, I tend to give witches and sorceresses and such a pass for cosmetics, as I figure they just use glamours anyway! Why bother actually putting on mascara when you can magic up eyelashes? XD

And yeah - I wish SHIELD were a bit more diverse (and yeah, I'm with you that Ward's pretty boring, but it's only one ep, he's got room to develop and I'll give him a chance...)

OUaT - oh yes, I love the women on that show SO MUCH - they're all awesome in so many different ways! They're pretty much all more interesting and developed than the male chars (except for Gold and Henry, and maybe Bael now. So, Rumpelstiltskin's line, pretty much! And interestingly enough none of those chars are especially physically imposing; if you want dragon-slaying or beating someone up, it's the women you should look to!)

Thor 2 I have been mostly avoiding spoiler shots (...actually avoiding Tumblr altogether, practice for when the movie comes out in the rest of the world a week before the US, whyyyyy ;__;) and trying not to get up any expectations at all so they can't be disappointed...but...Loki with a book! Loki in slippers! Loki on horseback, I think I saw somewhere? And Tom Hiddleston all over the place looking adorable! waaaaah cannot take it~~~! Must have it even if it breaks my heart.... (fanning on movies is hard, fanning on villains is hard, I just am a masochist, clearly XPXPXP)

I've already stopped breathing for the same reasons. I'm already so traumatized, no lie, that my friend Melody from Tennessee is flying out to literally hold my hand while I watch the movie.

I am so very glad my sister is going to be around for it - first Loki that we'll see together in the theater! Now I'm mostly working not to have any expectations whatsoever, so I can't be disappointed (for Thor to have sexy arms and for Loki to be conniving and awesome, that's all I'm looking for, I figure there at least I can't go wrong.)(ahhhh but he's showing off his magic in a glass cell waaaaaant~~~~!)
