I've seen OTP ("One True Pairing") used a bunch of different ways around fandom, sometimes leading to confusion and misinterpretation. I'm curious what the general trends for its use are.

Date: 2009-03-02 06:03 am (UTC)Yeah, it's ultimately all about the inspiration, I think. Like being in love with them being in love is what drives me as a writer.
But sometimes it's also about exploring how a different pairing changes who the characters are in the context of a romantic story. I.e., writing Ronon and John together really, really changed my John.

Yeah, different pairings can give you a different perspective on a char, and sometimes on a pairing...
